SK hynix Maintains DRAM Market Dominance in Q3 2025 Amid Rising Competition
SK hynix retained its position as the global DRAM market leader in Q3 2025, despite losing some market share to rivals Samsung and Micron. The company accounted for 34.1% of global DRAM revenue, generating approximately $13.75 billion, though its share dipped by over five percentage points from the previous quarter.
Global DRAM revenue surged 30% as prices firmed and inventories tightened across major suppliers. High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) demand remained strong, particularly for AI and advanced computing applications, though the quarter's growth was primarily driven by broader market dynamics rather than HBM alone.
Rising DRAM costs are pushing enterprises toward memory efficiency software and CXL-based expansion solutions. Samsung and Micron posted rapid growth, narrowing the gap with SK hynix as the industry heads into Q4.
